Icons of the Age

Elvis Presley was a huge icon in pop culture - his cheeky nature, on-stage antics and new age music won over hundreds of thousands and he gained so much popularity that his nickname is 'The King'. He energised audiences with his interpretations of music and shocked with his sexually provocative movements on stage - in some places, tv stations would only show Presley from the waist up!

Perhaps one of the most, if not the most famous figures of all time was Marilyn Monroe. An actress, model and singer, she was at the top of her game in Hollywood, singing for the President, becoming a pinup for so many, and was regarded as one of the most beautiful women of the time. Her life was one soaked in scandal, gaining her ever more attention from the press.

Marlon Brando is regarded as one of the greatest actors of all time. He took every role on with a great deal of seriousness and was successful in bringing realism to films - making them serious, more refined and in my opinion, works of art.
