Teddy Boys

The Teddy Boy look was a hugely popular style - it was an extremely extravagant style of the futuristic Edwardian looks being worn by many, but popped with colour and oozed with style. Though the Edwardian trousers were typically slimline, the teddy boy subculture created a newer, even slimmer form of trouser - the drainpipe. It was like a precursor to the skinny jean - straight down and contrasting dramatically to the long jacket.

(Source: handbagfairy.co.uk) I love how prominent the brothel creepers are in this look - they do look like quite an aggressive group

To complete the look, the boys wore Brothel Creepers - High soled shoes which lifted the wearer and again, was a huge contrast to the tiny trouser legs.

Inspired by those such as The King (Elvis Presley), the Teddy boys would slick their hair in a long, high quiff at the front and two rolls down the back. It was a hard hitting look and gave the impression of toughness.
