The Icons

Two cultural icons were extremely prominent in the 50's - Audrey Hepburn and the Stiletto shoe. Both are still extremely well known and are household names and words today.

Hepburn was a dancer and actress who had her first breakthrough role in Roman Holiday with Gregory Peck. She is immaculately groomed throughout the entire film and this helped to set her as one of the most iconic faces of the time.

Brought to light by Roger Vivier, the stiletto has remained a staple shoe right up until present day. The heel traditionally has a metal core and is extremely thin - but can flare out at the top. It was an essential item to finish off an outfit in the 1950's
