Twiggy Eyes

In the mid-1960's Lesley Lawson was preparing for a photo shoot with the Daily Express, one which would launch her career into the heavens and send her into orbit of the fashion world. She'd been spotted after getting her hair cut short in a pixie crop - the paper declared her to be the 'Face of 66', and her life would never be the same again.

She soon coined the name Twiggy (a spin-off from her childhood nickname which was Twigs) and did many shoots for high - profile magazines such as the prestigious VOGUE. Twiggy was small for a model - slightly shorter than the average height with thin, twiggy limbs and huge eyes framed with doe-like eyelashes. Her wide-eyed look is one of the most iconic styles and she has become an international icon.

I think the Twiggy look is beautiful because it encompasses such strong shapes but at the same time there's a really fragile feel to it. She was able to completely pull off any outfit in a way which looked so fashion forward
