Men swear by menswear

Before the 50's, menswear was second to womenswear - men wore whatever was in the stores, which so happened to be what was in style. However this all changed with the revival of fashion, and suddenly it was more than acceptable for men to want to be fashionable - they were now in the spotlight.

The menswear silhouette moved in correlation to the womenswear, and there was a slight sense of nostalgia in the new, modernised version of Edwardian dress men were adopting everywhere. I can understand why; it's such a classy and gentlemanly look, and is so slick. However instead of towering top hats, men wore more rounded bowler hats with narrow silhouetted trousers and long coats, most favourably pinstriped.

Some men even looked as far back as 1830, and took inspiration from the extravagant 'Dandy' style of Parisian men - they adapted it to suit them and created an almost in your face style of clothing - the Teddy Boy style.
